Why we started, what we believe, and where we're going.
A simple idea.
TruBamboo started with a straightforward observation: most homeware is made from plastic or materials that end up in landfill. We wanted to offer something different — products that are practical, beautiful, and genuinely better for the environment.
Bamboo is one of the most sustainable materials on the planet. It grows faster than almost any other plant, absorbs CO₂, requires no pesticides, and produces materials that are naturally durable and antibacterial. It was an obvious choice.
We added personalised laser engraving because we believe the best products are the ones that mean something to the person using them. A chopping board with your family name. Coasters with a special date. Homeware that's yours.

Every plastic chopping board or disposable coaster replaced with bamboo is a small win for the planet. Our mission isn't grand or complicated — it's just to make sustainable homeware accessible, affordable, and beautiful enough that people actually want it.

TruBamboo is a Young Enterprise company run by nine sixth formers at Bablake School, Coventry. Young Enterprise is a charity that gives students the experience of running a real business — from forming a company, to raising investment, manufacturing products, and trading at events.
We've set up stalls at fayres, run school fundraisers, attended trading events, and sold products to real customers. Every challenge has taught us something new about business, teamwork, and what it takes to build something from scratch.
